And they remain today as the longest running Chicago tribute band and the only one to carry four lead vocalists, just as the band Chicago does. The band travels internationally and has work visa's. Lily Sazz and Don Oakie blues, folk, rock, country, roots Duo Veteran piano player Lily Sazz has long been a fixture in the Hamilton and GTA music scene playing with a string of critically acclaimed bands, including Cootes Paradise, Trailblazers, Groove Corporation, and Rita Chiarelli (as part of Sweet Loretta). In her role as keyboardist for the Women’s Blues Revue, staged annually at Massey Hall, she has performed with some of the greatest musicians in Canada. Guitarist Don Oakie, after spending 35 years as a yacht builder, decided it was time to return to his first passion – music, and recorded his debut album, “Coming Home” in 2022. Paying homage to the Canadian folk artists he admired, like Bruce Cockburn and Gordon Lightfoot, he finally returned to his roots, drawing from the memories of his performances in the 70s in local coffee houses, as well as living abroad and travelling, soaking up the musical traditions of Iceland, Norway, Quebec, and the Maritimes. Lily and Don met through the music community in Dundas where they both reside. She encouraged Don to perform the music from his CD in a live concert format with a few fellow musicians. This led to a memorable sold-out show at the Dundas Little Theatre, complete with sponsorship, and warm audience response. Lily and Don have been playing together ever since. Their duo format has led to the development of some interesting covers, along with some original material, and a style that’s evokes a coffee house listening vibe with a mixture bluesy, jazzy, folky, and sometimes even rocky repertoire.
